Narnia

1.
Children -- there were four of them in summer clothes --
played in the house of an older wiser man
Fell into a world -- sometimes that’s how it goes
Became kings and queens of that bright land
and the lion was noble and wise there in Narnia
The magic of the white witch, it was chained and bound
Prince Caspian sailed to the western sea
And little men were forced to labor underground
until unlikely heroes set them free
with the lion still noble and wise there in Narnia
And the forest was enchanted
and the creatures were all talking excitedly
And the spirits in the trees began to move
when they were all called to war with the lion’s roar
Cause the lion had created them and blessed their land
Gave them a peaceful kingdom on every side
And when that earthly kingdom lost its final stand
the Narnia in Heaven came alive
with the lion still noble and wise there in Narnia
2.
But I am older, much to old for fairy tales and dreams
Even dreams
There are no adventures. Everything’s exactly what it seems
What it seems
Why does it burn inside of me
to be much more than I can be
and live inside a world that is not there?
The joy, the glory of that place
becomes a burden much too hard to bare
I want to see the dragon’s eyes,
make magic that is good and wise,
ride the horse with strong but gentle wings,
march to battle, sword in hand, with Aslan the great lion as my king
3.
Aslan, please descend upon this place
Let me taste the magic from your hand
Change me as I gaze into your face
as I live inside your story
Give me an adventure of my own
Make my own life an enchanted land
All I need is you and you alone
to bring to life that joy and glory

(C) "Come un (Em7) to me, (Dm7) all you \'ec(G7) weary
(C) heavy (Em7) laden. (Dm7) I will (G7) give you (C) rest."
(C) There was a pharisee (Gm7) who invited the (F) Lord
to his home for (C) dinner
A woman came there, (Gm7) washed him with
perfume and (F) tears from her (C) love
"If (Bb) this man were a (F) prophet he'sd (C) know
what kind of woman this is- (Bb, F) that she is a (G) sinner">>>
>>>(C) Lord, I want the real me in (Em7) union with the real you
The (Dm7) chains of my hypocrisy
keep (G7) me from coming to you
I'm (C) weary from the pain, Lord, of
(Em7) running, hiding from you
(Dm7) Break through my protective cover-
(G7) teach me how to love you
A deaf man heard again, a leper was cleansed to the bone
What did the righteous say?
I blind man saw again, a crippled man danced his way home
But it was a Sabbath day
"This man does miracles,
but he does not fit in to the accepted teaching.
How can we kill him?">>>
"This people honors me with words, with words
But their heart is far from me.">>>
